Wondering how to keep your furry friends free of creepy crawlies this spring?

We are getting ready to spring ahead once again and welcome the warmer weather! But this can also mean your pet may be at risk for a wide variety of parasites including fleas, intestinal worms, and ticks.

We carry a wide range of products for both cats and dogs to help prevent you from ever seeing a flea and decrease the risk of Lyme Disease from ticks. Or if you have found any of these bugs we can help you get rid of them!

In the last several years we have seen a large increase in the tick population in Nova Scotia, and some of these ticks are carrying lyme disease. If you and your dog spend a lot of time in the great outdoors we have something to provide you with tick protection... whether it be a collar or a spot on treatment. Also feel free to ask us about the lyme disease vaccine.

Whether you would like to give your furry friend a chewable tablet, place a collar or a drop on the back of his neck, we have something that works for everyone. This can get confusing on your own, but we are here to help. Any of our friendly staff members would be happy to go over the various products available and help you find what works best for you and your pet!

BAH is hosting an Auction!

Basinview AH is hosting an auction in support of Lori's Cat Rescue. This rescue is run by a great gal named Lori Martin. Over the past few years she has helped over 150 stray cats in the HRM. She has trapped these feral cats and has them spayed or neutered and vaccinated before releasing them back into their colony. Many of these cats are quite friendly and so, Lori finds homes for these cuties.

Frequently these cats require significant veterinary care including dentistry, abcess repair and parasite control. All of this work is done at her own expense! Unfortunately, the number of cats and kittens in need is growing.

We graciously ask your support in donating an item to our auction in support of Lori's Rescues.

You can contact Lynn Carroll or Stephanie Wood at Basinview for further information.

Auction is Saturday, April 16th at BREWSTER's from 2-4pm.
Please come out and support a great lady and a great Rescue!

Does your dog have anxiety?

As a great alternative to medication to alleviate or assist in your pets anxiety, we now carry a product called the THUNDERSHIRT. These thundershirt's work on the basis of many studies that found:

  • TTouch dog trainers use pressure to address a wide variety of anxieties.
  • Veterinarians use pressure to relax cattle when they are administering vaccinations.
  • People with autism use pressure to relieve their persistent anxiety.
  • Children with certain behavioral problems use pressure shirts and weighted vests to relax and focus.
  • Parents use swaddling to calm an inconsolable newborn infant.

If your pet suffers from separation anxiety, hyperactivity, crate training, travel anxiety, fear of thunder/noises, excessive barking or leash pulling than this might be the product for you!
